We have created an option for families who would like their children to continue their education at Jingle Bells beyond the Preschool Years. Our Elementary Schooling combines elements of the British National Curriculum with Czech Basic School requirements. The programme is open to Czech speakers and non-Czech speakers although all should have a basic knowledge of English. Classes are taught in small groups, offering individual support where needed. We serve up our Bellementary with lots of classic Jingle Bells magic and love of learning.

 

We cooperate with Czech Elementary school ZŠ Hartmanice, who happily register our children for an Individual Programme and provide us with guidance, materials and support for the necessary tests.

The school day is in English, apart from our 5 Czech sessions per week, within which we study grammar, reading and writing in Czech. Our non-Czechs have assistance at Beginners' level and Czech speakers Advanced level.

Our main programme in English includes Mathematics, Language, Literacy & Communication, Science, Geography, History, Art & Design and Music. Within our studies we include Design & Technology, ICT, Physical Education, Citizenship, RE and PSHE.

These subjects are taught either as individual subjects or cross-curricular, as appropriate.

The school year is divided into 3 terms (6 half-terms) Autumn/Winter, Spring & Summer.

We have 1 major Theme per Term or Half-Term.

Our Themes this year include Magical Prague, the 7 Natural Wonders of the World, Meet the Artists, Eco-systems and The Modern Metropolis.

 

Free play is outdoors unless storming.

Every Tuesday the group goes on a full day Field Trip where they visit museums, art galleries, places of interest, forests, etc.

 

We launched our English Elementary Afternoons in September 2020 and our Full-day 1st Grade Elementary Programme in September 2021. We will also open 2nd Grade in September 2022, 3rd Grade in September 2023 and 4th Grade in September 2024.

 

Students can be dropped off by their families directly at our Hradčanská Branch between 8:00 and 8:30 or JB teachers can escort the students from our Náměstí Míru Branch in the morning and back in the afternoon.
